SUNLAB student receives multiple prizes at 2026 Convocation
Congratulations to Hugo Lafleur on receiving his Honours BSc in Physics-Mathematics at Convocation, along with several prestigious prizes. These include the Governor General's Silver Medal in the Sciences, awarded to the student with the highest cumulative grade point average in an honours bachelor’s or equivalent program in the sciences; the University Gold Medal for Science, awarded for the highest standing in the honours bachelor in the Faculty of Science; the D.K.C. MacDonald Memorial Prize for the highest standing in the honours bachelor in physics; and the Thomas F. Lapierre Award for the highest standing in the honours bachelor programs.
These achievements reflect Hugo’s outstanding academic excellence, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Hugo will continue his studies at SUNLAB, where he will begin an MSc in Physics this September, focusing on photonic power converters under luminescent coupling.
